Hallie auditioned for Vogue magazine two days ago at Legends Inc. Since I am off work right now, I had time to do her hair and dress her nicely. She looked beautiful.

A Brownsville man was killed when a car hit his bicycle on August 13.

Edmonson County Sheriff’s Deputy Ricky Sanders says the call came in at about 8:45 yesterday morning.

39-year-old Wes Denham was riding his bike on Highway 259 about a mile-and-a-half south of Brownsville when he was hit from behind by a car.

Denham was a State Farm Insurance agent who often rode his bike to work in downtown Brownsville.

Wes and I went to elementary school-college together. His daughters attended the school that I taught at in Kentucky, so I saw him or his wife dropping off his girls and at school functions. I know he knew that I valued him and our friendship. It is hard to understand why this happened. Everyone loved Wes. He was an easy going, friendly person to everyone.

Yesterday I donated 5 bags of my clothes to Goodwill. Rachel helped me sort through for “ill fitting” clothing. I am not finished yet!! So hopefully I can make even more room in my closet.

MUNFORDVILLE — David Gregory Shipp, 46, of Munfordville died at 7:31 a.m. Aug. 12, 2008, as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was an employee of RR Donnelley & Sons in Glasgow. He was a son of James and Libby Shipp of Munfordville, who survive. Funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday at Cave Hill Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial in Caswell Cemetery. Visitation is in progress until 9 p.m. today and begins at 9 a.m. Friday at Sego Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Cave Hill Baptist Church of the Caswell Cemetery in care of Sego Funeral Home. Other survivors include his wife, Kammy; a son, Mason Shipp; a sister, Rebecca deWit of Fort Wayne, Ind.; his father- and mother-in-law, Randol and Gerry Carby of Munfordville; four nieces, Wendy, Kala and Kathy Carby and Sarah deWit; and a nephew, Martin deWit.

David was my first cousin. He always made me laugh at family functions. He was a wonderful person. I wish I would have expressed my admiration and love to him better.

Today Jonathan auditioned for a Sprint commercial in Santa Monica. He was number 257! Earlier in the day, he had his bottom braces added to his teeth.

After the audition we went to Santa Monica Pier. Hallie and Jonathan played on the beach for a while, then we went to ride rides and play games. We got cold around 7PM and headed back to L.A. We had a great day.

I missed it.

I have been leaving my curtains open to let the sun light in in the mornings. I would rather keep it dark all day, but that is not healthy for anyone. Though I could literally sleep all day. Actually I have an apt. with the sleep clinic at Kaiser next week.

Barbara has become one of my best friends in LA. Her daughter and my kids get along smashingly together. They are all into drama and improv, so it is like a on going theatre act when they are at her house. The woman has nerves of steel, because they get so rowdy and she is totally cool with it. Meanwhile I am ready to pull my hair out.

Barbara cooked chicken soup. It was really good. Then we took her dog Jack for a walk around the block.

Barbara attempted to help me with the math questions that are going to be on the test that I am going to take tomorrow, but I stink in math, so I don’t think it helped much, plus the theatre was going on in the other room.

She also did some “energy release” work on me. She is one of a kind.

I went through two months of old mail today! By doing so I realized my renters insurance expired tonight at midnight! So I called and renewed that!

Then I found a credit card statement that had a positive balance. I called to cancel it and get the remaining money sent to me. I am trying to pay off all debt, so I don’t even want to have the card in my possession.

I filed the kid’s bank account statements in their protfolios so that they would have their Coogan info for when they work.

I found a letter from a missionary that I helped sponsor. She is in Africa, probably back by now. I have decided to buy a shredder. I got sick of ripping everything into small pieces. I picture some criminal at the dump going through my personal info!! aaahhh

It is a beginning. I need a small file box of some sort.

I bought several bottles of the 1.5 liters of water at Ralph’s grocery store. I have really been drinking more and so has Jonathan. I have always kept bottled water, but there is something about that BIG bottle of water that appears to be more of a challenge. When we went on our excursion on the cruise I bought a bottled water insulator that fits the 1.5 liters. I had frozen a bottle to take to the pool, it still had ice in it the next day! Had I known it was going to work that well, I would have bought two!
